YEP Energy is proud to support service men and women at home and abroad through their partnership with the USO. YEP Energy’s new “Operation USO Support Our Troops E-Plans” provide residential electricity users in Texas a way to help recognize the dedication and sacrifice of the troops, their families, and the people who work with them every day.
When customers enroll in an Operation USO Support Our Troops E-Plan, YEP will donate Care Packages, which packages will then be delivered to troops currently serving in combat zones throughout the world. These packages include some of the small comforts from home and frequently requested items, such as prepaid international phone cards, disposable cameras, toiletries, sunscreen, and snacks, as well as letters of gratitude from members of the American public for their service time. With your help, we can lift our troops' spirits and honor their service.
About Operation USO Support Our Troops E-Plans
After September 11, 2001, the Department of Defense suspended its practice of forwarding correspondence and personal care packages from the American public to any service member. In 2003, to boost morale and provide a safe and secure way for the public to show their support, the USO developed the Care Package Program whereby packages only containing items donated by or purchased from manufacturers in bulk would be assembled and distributed.
